Is F45 The Best Kind of Cult?
Have you ever wonder what it’s like to join a cult? I don’t mean that kind of cult, how about the F45 cult?
You’ve finished the warm up, the timer is counting down, the music is pumping and you hear the buzzer… Its time to do burpees and not just a couple, were talking a whole minute worth. You can’t catch your breath, you look up and the timers only at 30, sweat is dripping down and your partners not stopping. It might not sound like the best way to start your Monday morning but believe me you will be on top of the moon by the time you finish.
By now if you haven’t got it yet F45 is a high intensity functional fitness that goes for 45 minutes. Every class is different and has different time, sets and exercise which keeps it interesting. Z Williams states that “the F45 workout schedule looks madly exciting; its website is like an ice-cream counter, tons of different classes with zingy names – Brooklyn, Panthers, Hollywood, Romans” We’re not talking a normal gym setting, it’s a mixture of the dancefloor at Bond and a gym in one.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday are cardio classes these are focusing more on using your body weight to work out with limited equipment. This is where you’ll burn the Quarter pounder your got from maccas on the way home from work last night. You might want to throw up half way so maybe check where the bathrooms are before starting your class (you’ll thank me later)
If cardio really isn’t your thing don’t you worry we have Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for resistance so you can turn that burger into muscle. It’s there where we take things a little slower, there’s no running around, you won’t need to do burpees but you will need to flit heavy. By the end of these classes you’ll be able to put on a couple layers of tan and get on the stage of a body building competition.
If that doesn’t sound like your cup of tea how about a mix of resistance and cardio on a lovely Saturday morning with their very own resident studio DJ, and yes, I said a DJ what kind of gym has a DJ oh yeah that’s right F45 does.
